Our Story

2021

Saw the commissioning of our new CNC Machining Centre which is producing a range of flanges, drive subs, proprietary threads, casing spinners and BHA accessories to support our customers with increased product range capability and greater control in the supply chain.

2021 also welcomed new 3D and Finite Element Analysis software adding increased service offerings to our clients and improving our design and demonstration sales processes.

Ozcon expanded their engineering and quality departments with a highly qualified and experienced mechanical engineer; providing enhanced in-house design, verification and inspection capabilities to our existing quality team.

We are proud to invest in our company to ensure a future where our reliability, responsiveness and quality products make us the supplier of choice for threaded tubular products and accessories in the Australian resources sector.

2020

A new truck and trailer was added to the fleet to provide an enhanced customer service for site deliveries and hot shots. Both truck and trailer are fitted with specially designed head boards and bolsters and a capability increase to get into remote sites.

2020 saw the purchase of new TIG and MIG welding machines for some complex high pressure pipe spools for one of the company’s top ASX listed clients in an underground application, the job was engineered, manufactured and delivered all within 60 days, a massive effort from the Dalby team.

2019

A new site was purchased on Warrego Highway, allowing for a modern factory containing all machining and welding activities under one roof, a newly constructed toolroom; greater QA facilities and a multi purchase machining centre.

The 8-acre hardstand has been fully engineered making material handling and inventory control a much more efficient function and large enough for plenty of business growth and opportunity.

2017

November
Ozcon Engineering has opened a new office in Perth, located in Osborne Park to provide improved convenience to our customers and will continue all machining and fabrication services from their modern facilities and large yard at Pinjarra.

September
Successfully completed relocation and integration of our pressure welding division into one of our other group companies extending our capabilities and regions that we operate in.

April 
The assets and IP were brought by Clisby Engineering Pty Ltd and now Ozcon Engineering Pty Ltd is a 100% owned subsidiary of Clisby.

2016

WDPT Pty Ltd was sold to a local pipe merchant.

2015

Opened our Specialised Welding division in Dalby focusing on pressure welding and related site works to better service the local CSG Industry.

Operations began in Perth, WA to focus on the mining industry in WA.

2014

Commenced operating our stock management site for a key client in Moomba, SA.

Ozcon API achieved API Q1, API 5CT and ISO 9001:2008 certification as a threader. The company was later renamed to WDPT Pty Ltd.

2013

Received a gold award in the Dalby Business Excellence awards being recognized for Customer and Marketing Focus, Process Management and Improvement and Innovation.

2012

Commenced operating our first stock management site for a key client in Miles, QLD.

Opened our Piping Systems Brisbane division in Caboolture, QLD.

Runner Up for Business of the Year at the Dalby Business Excellence Awards.

Incorporated Ozcon API has a wholly owned subsidiary of Ozcon Industries. This company was established to focus on API specific threading.

2011

Ozcon as first time nominees for the local Dalby Business Excellence awards received a Bronze Award.

2010

Ozcon became ISO9001:2008 certified showing the industry its commitment to a high quality product and service.

Received an impressive score of 161 out of a possible 162 points in an assessment conducted by Workplace Health and Safety QLD for our performance and commitment to Safety in the workplace.

2008

The 28 acre Wambo Street, Dalby facility was purchased.

The Perforator MkII was built allowing Ozcon to be the largest manufacturer of perforated pipe in the Southern Hemisphere.

2007

Ozcon designed and built its first prototype Perforating Machine – a major milestone for the business and the Australian CSG Industry.

2005

Ozcon was founded and operations were conducted at Bennie Street Site in Dalby, Queensland
